The Dinu Lipatti House – Casa Dinu Lipatti

Casa Dinu Lipatti was built in 1902 following the drawings of the Romanian architect Petre Antonescu. It was built in an Art-Nouveau style.
Although he lived just 33 years, between 1917 and 1950, Dinu Lipatti was a famous pianist, composer and professor. He was born in a family devoted to music, his godfather being the famous Romanian composer George Enescu.
He had graduated the Conservator of Bucharest and then he studied in Paris. He played with George Enescu or with famous conductors like Herbert von Karajan. Lipatti died in 1950 because of leukemia.
His memorial museum is located in his house from Leordeni, Arges district.
